ICONIC PROJECTS

For the fifth edition of the Steinway & Sons Concert Hall Series realized SIMAR from Artison in cooperation with Danny Schramm the elaborate lacquer finish of a unique grand piano, inspired by the Philharmonie de Paris.

The design, conceived by Steinway & Sons, takes up the iconic bird mosaic structure of the Paris concert hall - a tribute to the work of M. C. Escher and the visionary architecture of Jean Nouvel.

This motif was created in a composition of Silver leaf mosaics with finely graduated shades of gray realized. The structure and reflective properties of the silver leaf give the instrument a lively depth effect and a subtle alternation of light and movement.
